The Copco Dam and Powerhouse
were built between 1918 and 1922. Copco
(California
Oregon
Power
COmpany)
is on the Klamath River North East of Yreka California. Irongate
Lake is a few miles down river from Copco and was built in the
1960's. It was put in to control the uneven flow of water caused
by Copco's flow changes due to power needs. |
